How we protect every transaction, and what we ask of our counterparties.
CRIPTOIL maintains policies and procedures designed to comply with U.S. sanctions administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the Export Administration Regulations of the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), and applies them to the counterparties and transactions it enters into.
As part of onboarding, counterparties are identified and screened against the sanctions lists published by OFAC, the United Nations, the European Union and the United Kingdom, and screening is repeated as part of transaction review. Any transaction involving goods, parties or services of Venezuelan origin is undertaken only where authorized under U.S. sanctions regulations, including OFAC licenses where required. Authorization details are provided to banks and counterparties during KYC.
Vessels are screened before nomination or acceptance against sanctions lists and public vessel tracking data. We may reject any vessel with an identified sanctions nexus or a documented pattern of AIS irregularities.
CRIPTOIL does not ask prospective counterparties for advance fees, deposits, inspection fees or commissions before a written agreement signed by both parties is in place. Where a contract provides for an advance payment, it is made only into the escrow arrangement defined in that contract. Payment instructions are never changed by email alone: confirm any change through a contact you have verified independently.
Official communications come only from addresses ending in @criptoil.com. Check the domain letter by letter: look alike domains are used in fraud. Data room invitations are sent only from our own domain and never ask for passwords. To verify any communication, write to info@criptoil.com.
